About
I'm a software engineer with a decade of experience building systems that other people depend on. Most of my work sits where application code meets the infrastructure it runs on — the part where a clean abstraction either holds up under load or quietly stops telling you the truth.
I like problems that reward patience: untangling a service nobody wants to touch, making a deployment boring, replacing a clever solution with an obvious one. I've worked in teams of three and teams of three hundred, and the thing that has made the most difference in both is writing things down.
Outside of work I'm usually reading, walking somewhere without a plan, or taking on a home project slightly beyond my competence.
